You Asked, I Answered: Fall Edition

Fall is officially here, which felt like the perfect excuse to answer some of the questions I've been asked over the years—and a few I made up because, well, it's my blog.

🍂 October Things

  • I love pumpkin foods. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes…bring them all on! But pumpkin spice lattes? I’ll pass.

  • My ideal fall day: Hitting a farmers market with a cup of coffee, browsing all the homemade goods, and then spending the evening around our fire pit with neighbors and friends while my husband makes his delicious chili for dinner. That’s pretty much fall perfection to me.

  • I’ve watched The Strangers and Saw exactly once each—and I will never watch them again. Too much. Too scary. And, most importantly, too believable. The whole “this could really happen” thing? Hard pass.

  • I know this is a controversial take, but I love candy corn. Yes, I said it.

🦃 November Things

  • Our family has a Thanksgiving tradition: Every day in November, we write something we’re thankful for on a pumpkin. By Thanksgiving, it’s covered with the people, places, and things we love. It’s one of my favorite traditions.

I start watching Christmas movies on November 1. There are too many movies and too little time. Honestly, I’m just being practical.

  • Another controversial take: I can do without the turkey at Thanksgiving. Give me all the sides! Mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac and cheese, casseroles…that’s where the real action is.

  • Our family has three football teams we cheer for: the New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, and Auburn Tigers! #WhoDat #GeauxTigers #WarEagle

🎄 And Because I'm Me…December Things

  • I have to watch It’s a Wonderful Life every year while I'm wrapping Christmas presents. It’s a Christmas tradition I refuse to skip.

  • Christmas Eve is not complete without tomato bisque and grilled cheese sandwiches. It might not be the most traditional Christmas Eve meal, but it’s ours.

  • Yes to peppermint mochas. No to fruitcake.

  • My favorite Christmas book (other than my own, of course! 😉) is The Christmas Train by David Baldacci. I love the movie too!

Now I want to hear from you! What are your must-do fall traditions? Are you team pumpkin spice or team peppermint mocha? Do you start watching Christmas movies in November—or are you one of those people who waits until December?
